How Does Heroin Affect the Body?
Top-Rated Heroin Rehabs in California
Over 500,000 people in the United States are dependent on heroin. Roughly 80% of those who use heroin in the United States report that they started using pills first, making the use of prescription opioid medications one of the potential risk factors for Heroin addiction. Unfortunately, opioid drugs like heroin can have severe effects on the body, some of which are long-term.
Physical effects of heroin include but aren’t limited to the following:
- Brain damage, including deterioration of the brain’s white matter
- Increased risk of accidents or injury
- Gastrointestinal problems
- Kidney failure
- Liver failure
- Heart failure
- Infections
- Overdose
- Stroke
- Death
- Coma
Physical effects aren’t the only consequences of Heroin use. Legal and financial repercussions, including job loss and jail time, new or worsening mental health concerns, and strained interpersonal relationships, are some other potential impacts. Our heroin rehab in Southern California is here for you no matter how your addiction began and can help you avoid new or worsening consequences of heroin use.

Terrific facility for mental health treatment. If you or your loved one is struggling and needs a program. This is the place to call. The staff are excellent and the housing is top notch. It doesn't get any better in California or the country for that matter than Satori Health.

I give you guys my word when I say they help a lot with recovery, they make you feel at home and welcome, They actually care about you and want you to do better for your life. It was a great experience and I told multiple people about it so they can get their lives back on track like I did! I recommend this place to anyone that need help with their addiction and mental illness cause it really helped me!

I didn’t know it was possible to get sober until I went to silicon beach treatment center. They give you excellent support and have amazing communication with you at all times. The person who helped me out the most was Stephen Carr, the administration director. He was so genuine, down to earth and gave me motivation and inspiration every single day, but even on the days that I didn’t want it. He support me on my journey every step of the way and I couldn’t thank him enough till this day. I tried for 2 years to get sober and now I am already 10 months sober !

This treatment center is one of the reasons why I am alive today and clean and sober. The care I got from staff while my stay there was so genuine and caring. I can’t put in words how grateful I am to have passed through Silicon Beach Treatment Center. They will always have a place in my heart and if you are looking for help this is by far one of the best places there is out there.

Silicon is a great program. From the Clinical Director, Alisha (Ali) to House Managers like Stephen Castel, everyone cares and genuinely wants to help you recover in whatever ways they can. The sober livings are clean and spacious, and don’t feel crowded like housing in treatment often does. Groceries are provided with client input on what we like and want for the house

Southern California Opioid Addiction Treatment Options
Atlas Healthcare Group owns multiple treatment centers in Southern California. We offer every potential level of care used to address addiction. All of our clients get a personalized treatment plan, regardless of the level of care or program they’re in. Here are the options available at Atlas Healthcare Group and what each one entails. If you aren’t sure which one is right for you when you enter treatment, our staff members will help. Before you exit treatment, we will help you make an aftercare plan to aid continued recovery. We own supportive housing for clients who need a sober living space during or after treatment.
Detox
Getting off of Opioid drugs like heroin can come with serious withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Detoxification or “detox” is a level of care designed to help clients get off of substances safely, successfully, and with less discomfort. Atlas Healthcare Group’s detox program provides 24/7 supervision from medical staff and access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which can help prevent relapse. Usually, clients attend detox as a precursor to another level of care, such as residential inpatient or partial hospitalization. You can continue receiving MAT as you transition to other levels of care and after treatment.
Residential Inpatient
Residential inpatient programs are the most intensive form of addiction treatment. In residential inpatient treatment at Atlas, you will eat, sleep, and live at your treatment facility for the course of your program. Your daily schedule will consist of groups, individual counseling, recreation activities, and other treatments, as well as time to rest and reflect. The advantages of residential inpatient treatment include but aren’t limited to 24/7 access to medical staff, on-site amenities, a wide range of therapies, treatments, and activities, and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the healing process while away from daily life triggers.
Partial Hospitalization Programs
Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the next step down from residential inpatient. Also called partial day, PHP supplies the highest level of supervision and support you can get for heroin addiction without being in a residential inpatient program. Rather than live on-site, our PHP clients commute to their treatment facility for treatment 3-5 days per week and leave when treatment is over for the day. Many of the same therapies and treatment activities in PHP are the same as those used in inpatient treatment. Accordingly, PHP can be an ideal alternative to residential inpatient treatment for those who prefer not to live at their treatment center and do not require 24/7 supervision.
Intensive Outpatient Programs
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is the next step below PHP. In IOP at Atlas Healthcare Group, you will attend therapy and groups for at least ten hours per week but will return home at the end of the day. Since IOP requires a lower time commitment than PHP and extends more flexibility to clients, it can be an ideal fit for those looking for a heroin rehab in Southern California who need to work, go to school, or care for their families while in treatment.
Outpatient Programs
Outpatient programs are the least intensive kind of addiction treatment. In addiction treatment, outpatient services are often used as an aftercare plan for those who have completed PHP, IOP, or residential inpatient treatment for their addiction. However, outpatient care can be used as an initial form of care or to avoid and mitigate relapse during challenging times. Outpatient treatment is very flexible. The time commitment is lower than PHP or IOP and will depend on the specific treatments you choose to pursue or continue, such as individual therapy sessions, groups, and medication management.
